Miyamoto Issa is a popular Japanese hentai artist who we work with us at Irodori Comics.
In October, Miyamoto Issa had a work of his (which could be read entirely for free on his PIXIV account) stolen by some thief on the internet and sold on FANZA.
Manga and doujin piracy is a problem that has been plaguing Japanese artists for decades now. But the thieves are taking it to a whole other level by straight up stealing the artworks and selling them on platforms like FANZA and DLSite.

As Miyamoto Issa states on the Twitter thread above, this R18 work can be read for free on PIXIV. (You must be over the age of 18 and have a PIXIV account to access the work.)
Thanks to the help of his fans who reported the thief’s FANZA page, it was taken down within 24 hours of Miyamoto Issa tweeting about the incident on Twitter.

Miyamoto Issa said he archived the thief’s page using the Web Gyotaku (a service similar to Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine) and noted that he will be contacting FANZA management to resolve this issue in a way that would be as positive as possible for the victims of this thievery.
Unfortunately, Miyamoto Issa is not the only person who has been affected by an audacious thief.
Bouhatei, another Japanese hentai artist, becomes a victim of theft.

Bouhatei, another popular hentai artist in Japan, had their character design completely stolen (specifically, traced and used without permission) by a circle named スタジオサウスポー (Studio Southpaw). Bouhatei said the characters they designed were from a paid assignment they did for a company, so it’s not just them that’s taking a hit, the company that commissioned them is negatively affected as well.
While this particular work from Studio Southpaw featuring stolen character designs from Bouhatei was taken down, Studio Southpaw still has a page on FANZA and DLSite with over twenty works available for purchase. It will be best to avoid any purchase from this circle, as the works may include plagiarized characters from other hentai artists.
Always make sure that you’re purchasing from official sources such as the store links listed on the artists’ social media or through stores like ours, IrodoriComics.com. Supporting pirates and thieves will negatively affect the author’s ability to create more content.
